Dear Ry,
Yes, he says sensible things and hits the right balance. I'm pleased he refers to other religions rather than just the "evangelicals."

I read another article today that says about 40 percent of "evangelicals" really fit more in the politically moderate category and they care about a lot more than just abortion and homosexuality.

I read yet another article that suggests that "secularists" and Democrats fail when they only propose this or that policy or reform without tying it to an overall moral/ethical vision. I think it's Rabbi Michael Lerner's book--"The Left Hand of God" (I think I have the Rabbi's name right?). We are running a book study group on his book at one of the church's I attend.
