Troopers say Rodolfo Palacios-Garcia lost control of his car and slid under the tractor-trailer and died.

A 19-year-old woman is in a Tulsa hospital.

The driver of the semi was also slightly injured.

He was a friend of mine (he went by R2, so that's why the title is R2). Best cake decorator EVER. I don't know. I just felt like posting it somewhere. It's bothering me, even though I'm confident he's in a better place. Leah will recover, which is miraculous. In the pictures I've seen, the entire front half of the car was flat.

May R2 rest in peace . May Leah heal. May you find solace and peace in your bereavement. We are sorry for your loss.

Oy... I'm so sorry, darlin'. Truth is, I really have no pertinent experience to understand your loss. Nonetheless, your recent presence in this forum has been a delight to see. It's nice to know something good can come from Tulsa. :-) Doubtless, R2 had a wonderful friend in you.

Peace to you, and much love.

Thanks for the replies. He is survived by a 3 year old daughter, a 3 month old daughter, his ex-wife, & parents. Funeral is Friday, so I'll take an extended lunch.

Unfortunately, I've gained a bit more experience than I really want lately. Last year, my friend Diana died of an overdose on multiple substances. Sonnie shot himself in the head a few months ago. Now R2's accident.

But I can deal.

I guess good things come out of Tulsa sometimes :p I really came out of Minneapolis though.

Dear Britt,

I'm so sorry you have lost your friend R2. And for your other losses as well. You seem like a strong person, I'm sure you'll be fine. But it's okay to grieve and if you need a (cyber) shoulder to cry on at times, you'll find a few here, mine included.

I hope you have a good day and find lots of somethings to smile about!

Hi Britt,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm overdue for a visit to Tulsa... my boyfriend and I will probably come home in a month or so. Send me a message with your email. Maybe we can get together for dinner.
Peace,
nate:love:

The funeral is tomorrow (today, I guess) at 1PM. I'm obviously attending. I shouldn't even be up this late (even though I always am). He's just someone I miss. I've decided to keep his number in my personal phone, I guess because deleting it seems depressing somehow. Tomorrow might be a little rough for me, & I imagine no less rough for his family & so many others who were in his life.

In case anyone is curious (I didn't know until I showed up at the funeral, & saw her), Leah is out of the hospital. Her face is cut up, but she is otherwise physically unharmed, which is amazing, as they were basically run over by a semi. Emotionally, I'm sure she could use some prayers.
