Just wanted to make a couple of prayer requests:
- Anh-Huong Nguyen, the leader of the Mindfulness Practice Center of Fairfax, my main spiritual community, is spending most of her time now caring for her father, who has been ill for several months and is deteriorating rapidly, and probably will not last the next couple of months. Last night I learned he is suffering from a degree of paranoia from brain lesions, making it a trying time for him and his family.
- Another member of the MPCF, Holly, is beginning six months of chemotherapy.
- I seem to have come down with a case of hyperacusis, high sensitivity to sound, which is a real bother for my calling as a composer. I believe it's mild enough that it won't be permanently disabling... but... as it might be stress related, it points to other areas of my life like my work situation that may need to change. Much uncertainty. It's challenging to touch the stability of the spirit in a time of upheaval, but if upheaval is necessary to get out of a status quo that is not working well, then I will go through it, even with trembling!
