Hi. I am a sophomore at the University of Texas. I came out a year ago,not to my parents ofcourse:o, not ready for that battle yet. Lately I have been involved with StandOut, a queer political organization, to combat Prop. 2. Still a little steamed, but kind of proud that our efforts made Austin the only city in Texas to vote no on the amendment:lol: It's the little things really. So atleast here we have recognized that gay people are equal.

Welcome! It's wonderful that you had the courage to come out. And, I understand what you mean. I'm not yet ready to take on the battle of coming out to my parents in my life right now either. It's very inspiring that you work for equality in such a conservative state, and your success is wonderful. I know what you mean. I'm from Louisville, Kentucky, and I worked on the Vote No On the Amendment Campaign there last year. The city of Louisville actually did vote no, but of course the rest of Kentucky didn't just like the situation with Austin. Don't you wish they could just be their own states? Oh well. Again, welcome!
