Observation on liberal/progressive Christian journals
Interesting article in today's Washington Post.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...120101211.html And a thought-provoking quote at the end: Quote:
I've thought for a long time that the antidote to the conservative Christian attitude of "our way or the highway" is for progressive Christians to articulate a spirituality and ethic of the highest moral responsibility. Progressive Christians know that this is the root of the faith, but the well has been poisoned to an extent by the perception that progressive Christianity is nothing but empty tolerance. Are we approaching a time when we will see more challenges against the lies that are told about liberal Christianity? James |
Am I a progressive Christian
I consider myself a liberal Christian. I am definely not a conservative or fundamentalist. I am a lesbian. I do believe in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I go to a gay-affirming Christian church. My views on certain things are liberal. I believe in GBLT rights, Human rights, I am against the death penalty, but i am for pro-life. I am highly against this war in Iraq.I have an open mind. I think the consevative Fundamentalists are responsible for electiing this bozo Bush:eek: I believe i am what you would call a Christian progressive or at least a liberal Christian
