My Senator's response to anti-war activists
Here's a local story that just frosts my muffin. :headbang:
Read what happened to some local anti-war activists when they tried to see one of our Senators, Pete Domenici. Yay for non-violent protest! |
Good for them!

Thank God for protesters! :good: |
Where in the constitution does it say it is against the law to protest the war as long as people are not committing violent acts or breaking any laws in doing so...What happened to the first amendment right to freedom of speech?

My dad being a 'Nam vet , I can tell you about the long term effects of war not only on our vets and their families but the suffering of people abroad in other countries we fight.. Civilian casualities are often higher than the loss of our own troops.. I would certainly pray my son is never forced to fight in an unwarranted war of aggression against another country. Many of our troops don't support this either.. War should only be fought as a matter of self defense and only as a last resort when all other options or alternatives fail.. Most wars would be avoided if politics weren't involved anyway.

In addition to the dead,
there are thousands of the maimed, or missing an arm or a leg. And, the O.M.B. says that the actuarial cost of the war will likely exceed two and one half TRILLION dollars.
