How's this for a strange coincidence? Last evening, in the midst of all the stuff that needed done, I decided to fix some dinner for us so we'd be able to work hard and get the dining room floor installed.

I've had a craving for......

potato pancakes! As I was serving them up, I realized that it was the first night of Hannukah.

I don't think I have any Jewish ancestors.......

I hear ya barking, Big Dog. Latkes are THE BEST!

But here's my question for you:

sour cream?

applesauce?

or both??

:D

(P.S. Dash, honey, guess what we're having for din-din tonight...!)

I went with sour cream, but I searched the pantry for apple sauce!

Speaking of Dash-where is he? Is he alive? I hope so. :)

We had our Jewish friends over to decorate the Christmas tree last week, and had brownie sundaes shaped like christmas trees. We tried to find a cut out with a menorah shape, but the store didn't have any. I love potato pancakes! You're right, they are the best with apple sauce and sour cream. They're also good for breakfast with maple syrup.

Anyway, Happy Hannakuh. :)
