Are they dangerous?

On the religious right, my answer would be an unequivocal yes, As much as I've read on them, nothing to me says they aren't.
Somewhat dated ,written in 2005, a former fundamentalist writes about just how dangerous the religious right is to our country, our freedoms and our democracy.http://dissidentvoice.org/May05/Baker0512.htm

Other posts I've made are on the war and the religious right's influence in politics, why they really want the war in Iraq to continue, why they support a strike against Iran; they want a armegeddon so it will speed the rapture on it's way. It has little to do with national defense but for their own selfish purposes and agenda.

To them the war in Iraq supports biblical prophecy about the end times and Iran is apart of that scenario. It means Jesus is coming soon to rapture them (the good Christians) while the rest of mankind will suffer in torment. Nevermind that Iraqis and Americans are dying in this conflict in large numbers, that doesn't concern them... it's about bringing about the end times, remember? They want to speed that along so "they" can be raptured and redeemed apart from the rest of mankind.
I also did some research on narcissistic personality disorder and it seems people who fit into this camp and way of thinking fit the bill: Some charcteristics of NPD;DSM Criteria
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:[1]

has a grandiose sense of self-importance
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brillance, beauty, or ideal love
believes that he or she is "special" and unique
requires excessive admiration
has a sense of entitlement
is interpersonally exploitative
lacks empathy
is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Lack of empathy would to me be an indication of a lack of compassion or consideration for the rights and needs of others, showing little concern or regard for their welfare or pain.

Grandiose fantasies seem to put them on the pedastal apart from the rest of us because they see themselves as the only worthy or redeemed ones. All of the rest of mankind is corrupt and evil and will have to endure God's punnishment and wrath while they'll be whisked away to heaven to be with Jesus. There are those that actually revel at the idea, that there are going to be those "left behind" to suffer. They see it as their just deserts.
