Hello from Pineville, Louisiana
Hello,
My name is Holly, and I live in the small town of Pineville, Louisiana. Soulforce is actually having a gathering at the college no more than two blocks from my house. A friend of mine sent me a text message letting me know about it a few hours ago. My sister and her girlfriend will be going with my twin siter, my friend, and myself. I'm really hoping for a good turn out. I've always known that LC was not the school for me, as my older sister went when I was younger. She stuck it out for two whole weeks. Go her! Anyhow, I just wanted to say "Hello" to everyone, and see if there was anyone else from Louisiana here. |
Welcome!
We are glad that you have found us! I am not from Louisiana but I am from NC which is in the South so..Hi, neighbor!! I hope you enjoy the Soulforce gathering tonight. Hope to see you around the forums! :) Christine |
Welcome to our forums, Holly Lee.
Express yourself, get to know the folks, and celebrate your identity and attractions. I'm from Minnesota myself. A lesbian friend of mine had a house here, and one in New Orleans, where she grew up. Now she just lives here. Bummer of a storm.

Welcome Holly!
Glad to have you here. I hope you to see you around the forums, don't hesitate to jump into the conversations! Even begin your own if you'd like! :) |
Hey Holly!
I'm about 20 minutes from the LA/MS stateline. I'm a student at Mississippi College... I heard about last nights stop at LC from the Riders that are still here in Clinton, and I heard about you- though I didn't know your name. It meant a lot I'm sure to have your support out there. If you're ever passing through the Vicksburg/Clinton/Jackson MS area, let me know! |
Welcome
Hello Holly and welcome to the forum. I'm from New York but since Katrina Louisiana is always on my heart. Gennee   |

To hear it told on the radio this morning there was an evil hidden agenda behind the vigil. My best friend is currently living in Euphoria, MS, and was on the phone with me while I was listening to the radio. She was so upset by what she was hearing that she actually called the radio station to take a stand for, not only myself, but for everyone invovled, and they hung up on her rather quickly. She was the only person to call within the hour that I was listening who didn't take a hostile stance. Gotta love small, Southern towns :D It's so odd that an even such as this would make the A section of our news paper! here is the link to the full article should anyone be interested in reading it. http://www.thetowntalk.com/article/2.../-1/NEWSFRONT2 |
Stand is aprreciated
Holly, I applaud :applause: your friend for taking a stand. There are glbt students that appreciate her courage to stand with them. I just pray  that it will open some dialogue where LGBT students at LC and MC can be themselves without worrying about their safety.
