Donations? Suggestions!
 

Hi All,

This is my 1st post. I'm in a bit of a hurry, and will post in "Hello My Name Is" a bit later.

I've known of SoulForce for roughly ... 30 mins. or so.

I found Rev. Dr. White's excellent and intelligently written article (and downloaded the PDF). Quite simply, it's *the* answer/document I've been seeking for some time, in order to help some of my conservative Christian friends and family members (I'm not Christian), and to help those (including myself) who wish to be able to respond in a helpful manner to the assertions of many conservative Christians that the Bible may say that homosexuality is a sin.

I was inspired to make a donation -- but was taken aback by SoulForce's seemingly outdated donation system/form (I donated anyway. :) ).

SUGGESTION:

Sign-Up (SoulForce, as an organization) for PayPal -- it takes a *very* short period of time, and I believe the basic service, to take credit cards, etc., is free.)

I would have donated more quickly (I *almost* didn't donate, right now, not being sure if the donation interface was truly secure) had I just seen the familiar PayPal logo -- and -- for those of us who have PayPal as consumers, donating is just a click-or-few via PayPal, as opposed to having to fill out an online form.

As you well know (SoulForce staff & anyone reading this) - nothing happens without the money to pay for it. Any cause in the support of truth and love (example: SoulForce) *can* be a money-magnet (I have no idea what SoulForce's donations are like, currently, but I have yet to meet an organization that couldn't make good use of *more* [donations]).

Here are my suggestions:

• PayPal
• Make Sure SoulForce is Promoted Using ALL (FREE or Mostly FREE) Web 2.0 Tools (RSS Feeds, Delicious, FaceBook, StumbleUpon, Etc.) -- Web 2.0 changes everything; you can "notify" the world of SoulForce's mission and needs -- for FREE.
• Ask for Donations Based on Timing (the whole country is talking about GLBT issues per Prop 8, Obama/Warren, Etc.)
• Ask for donations per time-of-year (Holiday Sentiment + Tax Deductions!)
• Don't Be Afraid to Ask -- How Many "Me's" Might Be Out There?

You may already be doing some of this (or even all of it) all or in part ... I'm a bit short on time (and so, haven't reviewed the site or forums in detail) ... but just wanted to offer a few thoughts, in case they might be helpful.

And if you ever wonder if people outside "active" GLBT and/or Christian circles pay attention/care ... we do. Every human heart is ultimately filled with love --- some are just very confused -- and SoulForce is engaged in potentially world-changing work in helping to dissolve that confusion.
