How long have you been a forum member?
I'd be curious to know how many of us have been here since 2005 and how many wonderful people we have brought in since then.
I'd be interested to see if certain parts of certain years drew a lot more people in, and if there was a SF event that caused it. Oh course, if I just wanted the list of people I could just look it up, but I want to see the list from those who are active members. Anyway, I'll look forward to seeing the results. :) |
too long

Late 2006
October or, more likely, November.
I remember I had finished seminary in June, hadn't been able to find a fill in job being in Podunk Iowa, couldn't find an open pastorate, and was on the verge of insanity (some things never change). I had to do something to keep me sane and connected. After seeing Rev White speak, and had occasion to chat with him a little, decided to check out Soulforce. Except for occasional lapses, I am still here - like a bad fart - umm, I mean penny. |
Danny, what the HECK is the premise of that musical? It likes like a Twilight Zone episode.
Jennifer, I signed up the day the forum was first announced to the Soulforce email subscribers. I'm like an original forumite from the early mesozoic. |

Honestly, I don't know what we would do without you... we'd be lost. Did you actually mark the poll? The numbers haven't changed yet.... |

Ahh, and that's right -- I only signed up for a login name in order to win a book. I was pretty convinced that after the 'hello' post, I would never post again.:rofl::rofl: |

So you kept coming back and got a good book. |
From that YouTube video: “I love you more than poetry”
I gotta remember that one. -- Quote:
-- 12-07-2005 for me, which I think was shortly after the forums started up. I had come across the site months before, and checked back every so often before I found the forum. I was originally drawn specifically to the nonviolent / bridge building activism approach, and thought that this whole religious anti-gay thing was just one big misunderstanding, and that all we needed to do was communicate with them in love and then everything would magically fall into place and we would live happily ever after, the end… http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...exe/naive1.jpg That was then. This is now. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...2/frazzled.jpg |

(I use waaaayyyy to many smilies, I'm starting to annoy myself) |
I joined in 2005, right after reading Stranger at the Gate. By chance, this forum (and maybe even the Soulforce website) had just come online.
I watched a Chad Allen movie last night -- Save Me. He mentioned Soulforce in the bonus interview section of the DVD. |
may 2006
though it was under a different login name. U-dog came online in February 2007. Stranger at the Gate was my introduction also.

I knew right away the song was by Sondheim -- has it been used elsewhere? Excerpted? Somehow I already knew the song, just not this bizarre TV musical. Totally creepy. Geez. So, what was your point? That hanging out on this forum is somehow comparable to the Perkins character in Evening Primrose? |
Early '06. There were only two forums back then.
But Andy, now, he seems like he's been around forever.
Only post when you've got something to say, or you can at least make something up. BC |

Living online- even on a forum as interesting, and as necessary as this one, can be like that. Which is why I noted that I needed to get out more! ;):lol: |
June of 2007
I joined Soulforce in June (I believe of 2007). I stayed active until my brother's illness in December but then fell away due to his constant needs, but found my way back this past summer. I have been searching my brain to try and remember how I even heard of Soulforce or even found it but, as of yet, I do no have the slightest clue. I do know that when I came, I felt very welcome and I felt like I had found a home. The people on the forum were so full of information that I would read and read for hours at a time. I had all ready come to grips with my sexuality and had reconciled it with my faith in God, but Soulforce became an affirmation of what I all ready knew in my heart.
