PLEASE READ - Viruses Through Forum Links

Hello everyone -

I know we've posted this many times, and some of you are getting tired of hearing about it - however, spammers are still fooling some of us, and we need to be very mindful when we use this (and every) forum.

Aside from the large flow of spam bots & users that have been able to infiltrate our forum over the past few weeks, these spammers are also sending out messages with pretty convincing text that offer a "link" to help you clean any known viruses from you computer (please see example below).

However, you can be sure of some basic laws of this forum:
  1. Soulforce Staff will never send you a link to anything either than your initial confirmation of email for registration. We will never offer you a virus scan solution via a link in a message - we expect that you keep up with your own virus scans on your own computer.
  2. Soulforce will never send you a link from "webmaster@soulforce.org" or "admin@soulforce.org" or any combination of the above.
  3. If Soulforce has an issue and requires the member's of the forum to take action, we will post it publicly - and the icon "Soulforce Staff" will appear near our post.
  4. If you have any questions regarding anything on this forum, you should use the contact form. It will route directly to the Webmaster and/or the moderators of this forum.

Please remember this as you come across suspicious messages/emails/etc.

EXAMPLE OF SPAM FROM EMAIL LINK STORY (From a Member):

To whom it may concern,

I received the below message today from Soulforce.org. I am a registered user of your site, however, the email that I received stated that I had virus activity coming from my computer to your system and private messages would be turned off. The email (from your forums pages) gave a link that supposedly would scan and clear my computer of this alleged virus activity. However, when I clicked on the link, what in fact happened was a trojan virus was set free on my computer...
