Desmond Tutu, the Nobel laureate and archbishop emeritus of Cape Town, denounces violence against LGBT people in Africa in an op-ed in The Washington Post. He calls recent moves “terrible backward steps for human rights in Africa.”

you are very right...i know no religion that is liberal on that. finding a religious leader who thinks like this is like green card - you can try but the chance is ...actually not there.
i wonder if people would change if even the pope said that homosexuality is no sin/disease/whatsoever and that all people of all religions and orientations are to be respected...maybe that would make conservatives think about.
gosh, rambling away in my dreams :(

I've always respected Bishop Tutu as a light in the struggle for human rights. I hope he will be with us a long time yet so that we can be given wisdom.
