Chely Wright (country singer) comes out..
 

I'm afraid I've never heard of her, but then again, I seldom listen to country. I'm curious to see the level of support she'll find within the country music world. Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Reba are three gay-friendly singers I can think of. I also wonder how this will affect her fan base. Am surely hoping it won't affect it at all!

k.d. Lang comes to mind... how did fellow country singers react to her coming out?

Thanks for the link Daniel. I barely missed being a closeted gospel musician myself. Although it remains unspoken I'm pretty sure it runs in my family. I find it just as inspiring at queer church. I like it when our musicians are openly "hot". I was tempted to tell Trish our choir director to quit hogging the "good looking".

Kirk Talley's (metioned in Daniel's link) image and career are wrecked for good because he was discovered to have shared nude photos on a gay website, yet gospel singer Michael English is forgiven and welcomed at the Grand Ole Opry after cheating on his wife. I guess that's totally understandable, since Michael was doing it with a woman, not a man... :/

I know it, the double standards continue to amaze me.
