Well, Peace and Love

An ex-gay leader is a guy who tells you that it's evil to like guys, and that through therapy and prayer (to the one true God of the correct denominational affiliation) he no longer likes guys, because after all he's married a woman now and made five babies with her, but spends his free time on the bike trails drooling over muscular cyclists in shorts and tank tops, wishing that he were the bicyle seat.

An ex-gay leader is a guy who goes to the gay bar to friendship/witness. He invites patrons to join his group in non-threatening activities like camping and volleyball. In down time while camping he can share the love of Jesus in a personal and meaningful way. If there's a little physical contact well, that can hardly be helped while camping or playing volleyball. All this is done while his "wife" is carting the kids around to various activities for school and church.

OK, this is probably not the best use of my poetic gifts, but couldn't resist. I wrote it this morning. Hope you enjoy. ;)


I once was lost,
a man in great need
of salvation from
this wretched disease.
An answer did come
to my prayers and pleas.

to the men's room I did flee.
Snuck a peek at the
caterer as he peed.
He looked my way,
and smiled wickedly.
