Mpls Gay Pride Weekend !

An event that I look forward to all year. This year, a fundie, Brian Johnson, will be there. In past years, he has had a "Pro-Life" booth, for at least ten years. I guess that he has finally figured out that lesbians have Very few unwanted pregnancies, and gay men, even fewer. So he is going to be there, passing out bibles, and preaching Leviticus.

I guess that he must have created quite a ruckus, because for the first time in 10 years, the local gay community has taken him, and the local Pride committee to court, to try and get him banned. EDIT: While very vocal, he has little theological education, beyond extensive reading of the King James Bible.

He and I have had long discussions, and polite disagreements for at least ten years. I will point out to him that I have never met a gay man or lesbian who has ever admitted that there was eve a time in their life when they chose to be attracted to the same sex. or that it was ever a choice at all. They were simply born that way, which pretty much means that God created them that way. Which means that Leviticus, which was written by men, is wrong.

Happy Pride, gotta run, BruceChris

I read about Mr. Johnson earlier today. A court gave him the right to protest.

Interesting that the man has had very little theological education. That said, I can think of others who have lots and are just as intolerant. Which may just go to show that being smart and having heart isn't the same thing.

Wishing you a wonderful time tomorrow!

This is as close to a RAVE, or a Mardi Gras as I will ever get, at my age.

The pride crowds, with all of their myriad of costumes, are a safe place to wear almost anything, or almost nothing. Many of the guys were wearing variations on the basic jock strap, made of anything from leather to lycra.

One of the drag queens must have been about 6'5 ", before you added the ten inch platform heels.

One of the women was wearing a bikini bottom, and black stripes on top. No, I don't mean she was wearing a shirt, just black stripes.

A lot of str8 people come to Gay Pride, just to dress as they wish, and act playful, or goofy.

Brian did show up, but as usual, went almost unnoticed. He has a need to judge gay people as sinners, but he's not really a bad guy to talk to.

It Was A Blast
