Anne Hech's Mom is at it again

She's written a book on homosexuality - The Complete Christian Guide to Understanding Homosexuality - with the usual suspects. My only comment is that if she had written "How I Understand Homosexuality" it would be more accurate.

It takes a lot of hubris to speak for all Christians, much less the GLBT ones.

I wonder if the mother and daughter get along? Poor Anne. You'd think that people would have the sense and decency to put the well-being of their children above outdated religious beliefs. Unfortunately, at this time, often not.

This reminds me of a line from one of Ray Boltz' songs; "...Who would Jesus hate?" No wonder Anne was/is confused about her sexuality. Her mother is at best crazy and at worst malicious.

I read in an interview a few years ago with Anne Hech that the two do not speak. And though I have not (and will not) read her mother's book, I wonder what part having a gay husband plays into this story, that is, the psychological underpinning. Is Anne's mother still feeling the brunt of betrayal, anger and bitterness? Is she feeling like a fool and taking it out on gay people? One wonders.

Just another reason to stop the oppression of gay people. Persecuting them doesn't make one's pain go away.

So sad that a mother makes the life of two persons (herself and her daughter) so difficult just by her old-fashioned homophobic ideas :(
Although I live in Europe and have the impression that Europeans are quite liberal on homosexuality, it does often happen that gays are getting discriminated - it's like a mask falling off then, scary and depressing...even worse if it's your own mother..."we love you BUT....!"
however i i know examples where the sexual orientation has no influence on the relationship between parents and children, just as it's supposed to be... i guess there's less chance to succeed than for a green card lottery usa!

It's really sad about the whole situation with Anne and her mother. The woman simply cannot accept that her daughter is at the very least bisexual. Nope, she would rather cling to her bigotry.

I feel really sorry for Anne, that her mother does not support her. I was lucky mine does.
