We are living in a time of huge shift in cultural paradigms. The greatest threat to the positive change seems to me to be the refusal to re-consider violence, what it is & what it does.

The fear that 9/11 struck in us has led us into the mythic-literal where blood must be shed to avenge and cleanse. It's the reptile in us taking over.

I agree that a connector culture, recognizing our interdependence, can't throw away accountability. The challenge seems to be in imagining accountability that is not hierarchical, male-dominated, power-addicted and violent. I once thought feminism had the answers but all I've seen is powerful women who are forced to play by men's rules.

Thank God there's prayer which connects us all, shapes culture, heals, and directs Spirit into ways of being that are blessed and compassionate.
