Default Clearer Instructions for New Users

Since some folks are completely new to Forums, I will provide detailed instructions on how to register, upload an avatar, and post an introduction in the Hello My Name Is... forum.

Forums are essentially a message board where members can post messages and also reply to other people's messages. Anyone can read the messages, but you have to be a member to post a new message or reply to someone's previous message. Becoming a member is simple, all you have to do is register.

Click here to register on the Soulforce Community Forums

When you register, you have to provide a valid email address. A confirmation email will automatically be sent asking you to click a special link in the email that will confirm your registration. (This is done in order to make sure the person registering actually owns the email account they provided and is not using someone else's.)

Now that you have registered, you are free to post public messages in the forums and also send private messages to other members.

An avatar is a small picture, usually a face shot, that is used to help people identify you in the forums. You do not have to have an avatar to use the forums, but having one provides a nice way for folks to recognize you. Most users use a picture of themselves as an avatar, but some people like to use cartoon characters or art or whatever.

You can upload an avatar by going to your account. You can get there by clicking User CP at the top of the page or you can just click the link I'll provide for you here:

Upload an Avatar

For this promotion, we're giving away a free book to the first 25 people who register, upload an avatar, and post an introduction in the Hello My Name Is... forum. To do that you will need to go to the Hello My Name Is... forum. Here is the link:

Hello My Name Is...

There you will need to click the button marked New Thread. It looks like this:

You can then use the editor to type your introduction.

Hope that helps! And I hope you can now join in on the fun!
