I definitely know what you mean, sbonser... I've been with my gf for almost two years now and most relatives never ask about her, but if my cousin even mentions a guy's name then everyone gives her these big smiles and asks all sorts of questions about how they met, how she knows him, etc.
I feel like my relationship doesn't count to them. "Don't ask, don't tell"
