Yes, that's possible. Adversity often has things to teach and remind us if we are open to learning and remembering. One of the secrets to getting smarter as you get older is learning to be open to the lessons that adversity teaches.

This doesn't mean that adversity doesn't suck. it does. It just means that good can come of it if you are looking for it. God also has a way of lurking about in the midst of difficult times waiting to give us a leg up into new insights.
