Ms Prejean has become a martyr for the religious pro-Prop 8 wrong. This incident just adds fuel to their fire. Given Trump's and the pageant's statements, I am wondering if she even entered the pageant for less than 'pageant' reasons. Or perhaps she is realizing the money she can make if she continues to speak out at events in favor of Prop 8 and against GLBT people. There is a lot of money to be made in that arena, and she appears to be an opportunist who is looking to benefit from it.
Although she was kept on after her anti-gay spiel, and in spite of semi-nude pictures and missing required events, and then eventually fired after ignoring continued warnings to adhere to her contract, she will of course blame the gays for her being fired. And the R/W (religious wrong) will continue to stand by her and use the incident to try and booster their position. They will get a few sympathetic supporters (oh, poor poor Miss CA...). But it could backfire and result in more people dismissing the anti-gay idiocy of the R/W'ers.
She will make her $$ and eventually go away and have some babies and be almost forgotten.
