Love the quotation! I agree with the sentiment.
Eric McCormack was at the Meet in the Middle rally in Fresno last month. He gave a great speech. The crowd loved this one!

And gay people do make things nicer. I've been a member of Regina's gay club for about 5 years. It started out as showing support for the community, and looking for a hangout close to home, and then I discovered how great GLBT people are. They've been so nice to me. That's a big reason I've gotten really active in supporting GLBT causes. I don't want my buddies to be discriminated against.
They do, don't they?! Part of it I believe is that we are more accepting because of our experience not being accepted. More compassionate and able to think with an open mind. And I like to think we are less judgmental, but perhaps that is dreaming just a little. We aren't perfect, we are humans after all, but I think we are pretty darn great!

I'm also the token straight person (the Secretary) on the Executive of a GLBT organization, and the people I deal with there are the coolest folks I've ever worked with.
Awesome Offog! I've been to Regina twice. Both times for the Canadian National Arabian Horse Show (once to show, once to watch). I loved the hotel, we had a large pool in the middle of the hotel complex with two really fun water slides. The people I found to be extremely nice (and interesting), I had my first dill pickle potato chips and I loved the huge park in the middle. Unsure of the name, but I believe the Legislative building was at one end. Lovely and I took lots of pictures.
