I have been finding it hard lately to talk to people who are, let's say less than open when it comes to scientific reasoning. I am not an atheist mind you but I find hard to argue with some about Gay being normal, and they say its in the bible, so we must follow it. But most have never read the bible or they quote stuff out of context.
My argument to that is one the writers of the Bible were not psychologist.
Psychology didn't really get off the ground until the late 1800's. and many finding have not only removed homosexuality as a disease or a disorder in 1973, but have offered new theories about sexuality, in general.
Factors like neural structures in the brain, the enviroment of the womb and genetics, and that homosexuality naturally occurs in nature among whales, penguins, sheep, grizzlies, dolphins and primates and not the worn out nature versus nurture argument. There is also the theory why gay people do not go extinct, mainly because the genetic factors maybe carried by realitives and siblings.
But when present with this information they say we are going agains the bible, when in fact science got it start because early scientist wanted to know how God did it.
