Gennee, the story of the prodigal son is always so meaningful to me. (I usually see myself as the older brother who always did what was expected and expects to get a little better treatment than the rebellious brother.)
The great thing is that our heavenly Father loves each of us with overflowing love. Nothing we do can stand in the way of His love. Also nothing we do gains us more of his love. Grace is infinite and universal.
I am also blessed not just by the affirmation and grace of God, but by the affirmation of people around me. My mom has some of that endless love. I am one of those sons blessed with a wonderful mother.
My "coming out" was the beginning of a period of great freedom. I wish all LGBT individuals who are trapped in the closet could experience the same freedom, and we could all celebrate together.
