Way to go Jennifer
I love Jennifer Knapp. I have her first album and it's one of my very very favorites! I'm very familiar with her Christian connection in the music community and she's got a raw Alannis Morrisette type music. Much like Kim Hill (also a Christian music artist and single Mom.) I'm so glad to hear about Jennifer, I never suspected prior to reading this that she was gay, but I'm glad that she's been honest and has decided to be true to herself and the being that she was created as.
In addition, what I didn't know is Ray Boltz is too!? My goodness, I'm finally glad that those who are in the Christian limelight and are part of the GLBT community are starting to be honest in their public arenas. Maybe now, more will come out of the wood work so to speak and start giving GLBT folks a voice within the religious realms that historically have been so rejecting. One would have thought that Ted Haggard might have bridged that gap some, but alas the religious reaches proved to have too tight a hold on him.
In any event, I think this is awesome news and hopefully will help to pave the way to more open dialogue between GLBT community and other communities of faith.
