These ex-gay movements scare me. I've heard much evidence of their harm, and little of their "help". Many people who say they were "cured" of their homosexuality came out later and said that it did not do squat, which lends further evidence to the complete lack of effectiveness of these programs. Ex-gay leaders are blind to reason and try to justify what they do as science.

I commend the APA for taking a stance against these organizations and the harm they cause. Some of the anti-gay people may say that the APA is being biased, but I honestly doubt it. When the leaders of these ex-gay groups come out and apologize for their involvement, it seriously ruins their credibility. Not to mention, numerous studies have shown that their therapies simply do not work. It is shameful.

When will people learn? Ignorance is a terrible thing that hurts people.
