I have many bible verses that have blessed me but this one is my favorite:
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24 I can't do anything about yesterday because it's gone. Today I began with a clean slate. How I choose to use it is up to me. God gives us all the same amount of hours. I have discovered how precious each day is. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to me. As I get on in years I see how much each day really means to me. God has brought me to this time to show that He is still doing His work. Each day as a transgender person has been so precious to me. No two days are alike. I don't know what tomorrow holds. I can only take care of today. Gennee

This reminds me of that tune with the lyrics: The best of times is now. What's left of Summer But a faded rose? The best of times is now. As for tomorrow, Well, who knows? So hold this moment fast, And live and love As hard as you know how. And make this moment last Because the best of times is now. Now, not some forgotten yesterday. Now, tomorrow is too far away. So hold this moment fast, And live and love As hard as you know how. And make this moment last, Because the best of times is now. Rick |

Psalm 118 is the Psalm that is read or sung at Easter services. It is a wonderful expression of the wonder of the resurrection and the wonder of life.
It is a great verse to apply to our personal lives as well. We are a people of joy who have been redeemed by our Lord.

This might seem like a digression, but, for me anyways, it isn't, so please bear with me. Yesterday I led a class on "Locating God." It wasn't about religion, per se, but about exploring how/where we find a connection to God. One of the handouts I used was from the Quaker perspective about the the Presence of God. Here are Thomas R. Kelly's words from Testament of Devotion (1941): Quote:
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24

I think these are words worthy of each days consideration...how willing we are for some days to be done...instead of listening and learning its wisdom. Very very thoughtful write.

Ive been spending the equivalent of 4 hours, inbetween mornings and evenings each day. I dont find it that big of a deal. Im happy, but I know how important it is to step away, from the computer at a given moment. What about yourselfs? Does that bother you?

It's good to step away from some things for a while. The batteries may need recharging. Sometimes you hit a dry patch in your life. When I do I find and realize that there are other facets of my life.
