Default Moving to Cali?

My girlfriend and I wanting a change. We are thinking of moving to California but our main concern is money :/ we dont want to spend everything on a decent place to live. As our funds are short because of school, does anyone know of an affordable place? that is gay friendly? We are sick of the persecution we face from our families and are wanting to move somewhere we can make friends and have a good support group that isnt anti gay and our parents arent around every corner. Thanks

I've only been to California for a couple of times but I've found it very gay friendly, esp in San Francisco.
You can try to browse myhammer.com to find someone to help you moving, I've found very reliable furniture movers with low prices, that might help you save a bit !

San Francisco is an expensive place to live. There are outlying areas that are a bit cheaper, but not too far from SF. I live in Sacramento, we have a very large and close GLBT community and the cost of living isn't bad. And you are only a two hour drive to SF! There are several gay friendly places to live in Southern CA as well. Just stay away from Orange County! lol The northern coast is also very gay friendly and eclectic - it can be expensive close to the ocean, but there are many inland areas (esp the Russian River area) close to the ocean where it's more affordable.

Good luck in your search and wherever you end up going!
