March of the Penguins

Hey, a friend was telling me that in this documentary movie, March of the Penguins it points out that something like 40% of penguins partner in same-sex relationships and even raise young together.

What a commentary on the "it's not natural" argument! Apparently God created 'Adam & Steve' penguins!!!

Has anyone seen the movie? I'd love to know more.

The movie is beautiful! Beautiful! We own the DVD. Strongly recommend it, you will come away with deep respect for the lives of penguins.

However, I don't recall the movie mentioning anything about same-sex penguin pairings, let alone a specific statistic. Could watch it again I suppose? Perhaps though, you are mixing up this movie with the story of the two male penguins in the central park zoo who mated together, passionately according to observers, and ultimately built a nest and kept a n egg-sized rock warm until zoo-keepers gave them a real penguin egg. Then they cared for the egg and the new-born chick until she became a fully functional (heterosexual) young penguin lady. Then the dads split up.
