Angry We're trying in Colorado, but now this stupid scandal...

My main concern in the Colorado elections is that our Referendum I pass that allows for some recongnition of same sex partners. It is a step forward, but also I'd like to see our "Marriage Amendment" , Amendment #43, which defines marriage between a man and a woman, defeated.

It will be interesting to see how this scandal affects the vote. Even though the person "accused" in the scandal here was a Conservative Evangelical Pastor, Ted Haggard, the accuser was a male escort, who was not of the best reputation. Rev. Haggard will have to deal with his own hypocrisy, as he often preached against gay marriage and homosexuality. Reportedly, he has admited to some of the accusations... However, the scandal reportedly isn't helping our important vote here... People just see it as sleazy, which it is... I guess the escort wanted to help the cause for the Referendum I, but I am fearful his motives have backfired. We'll see as the Referendum I is only slightly behind. Pray for our victory!

I certainly hope voters in CO will see beyond the slime of this scandal (whatever it turns out to be, really,) defeat the amendment, and pass Referendum 1.
