As of late I have been makeing suggests for my local libray's political section, which unfortunately has many very right wing authors, like, Bill O'Reily, Dr. Laura and Anne Coutler to name a few, and very few counter balancing viewpoints, could you give me some ideas, Please leave the name of the book and the author, Thank you. I will add you suggestions to the list I submit to her.
The head librarian has just put in an order for "Stranger at the Gate", and she has already added "Religon gone Bad" just before the end of last year.

Below is the recommended list of books we sent to some of the more welcoming colleges that the Equality Ride visited. The first two, of course were "Stranger at the Gate," as well as our booklet, "What the Bible Does and Doesn't Say About Homosexuality." In addition, we recommended:
RECOMMENDED BIBLIOGRAPHY "Jesus, the Bible, And Homosexuality: Explode the Myths, Heal the Church" by Jack Rogers "What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality," by Daniel Helminiak "The Heart of Christianity" by Marcus Borg; published by Harper Collins "Gay Marriage" by Jonathan Rauch; published by Times Books New York "Trans-Gendered: Theology, Ministry & Communities of Faith" by Justin Tanis "Our Tribe" by Rev. Nancy Wilson "The Lord is my Shephard & He Knows I'm Gay, The autobiography of Troy Perry" |

I agree with Dave on this one. I am about halfway through. An excellent book. Another great book that doesn't necessarily deal with LGBT issues but deals with politics. God's Politics: Why the Right is wrong and the left doesn't get it by Jim Wallis

"The Men With the Pink Triangle" by Heinz Heger. It's about the treatment of gay men in the concentration camps during World War Two. It's disturbing but excellent and is just as good as Elie Wiesel's "Night". It also shines a light on a part of the Nazi rule that is often ignored.
