Default A return to boundaries

During the duration of the Equality Ride, we relax the forum guidelines somewhat, largely for the benefit of students who have heard about the ride coming to their school and want to dialogue with more people who are involved with Soulforce.

Tomorrow is the end of the ride and so we will be moving the boundaries back to where they normally stand. We've always sought to make room for, to welcome as guests, those who are sincerely wrestling with their understanding of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. However the Soulforce forums are not an online 24/7 version of a Soulforce action where we engage those who desire to debate our equality. For one thing, volunteers in an action spend time centering themselves before engaging with those who harbor prejudice against LGBT people. Also the time spent engaging is limited, not continuous (although for the Riders it is largely continuous for two months.)

After tomorrow, the moderators will no longer allow new posts deemed anti-gay to remain on the forums. Such posts will be removed and returned to their authors.
