Default Hello everyone - I'm Mia.

I live in Scranton, PA. I'm a young gay woman and I live with my girlfriend. I have a very large and Catholic Italian family, so things are interesting.

I'm looking to make friends here who understand and might be able to shed some light on the path.

I'm excited to be part of such an amazing group of people on Soulforce.

In my case, I grew up in a fundamentalist Christian family, and now apart of the progressive UCC. Fortunantly, the reaction from my parents have been mixed - from okay to blaming themselves.

Regardless of the situation, do not be ashamed of who you are - to quote a friend of mine, "you are a wonderful child of God."

"Coming Out" can be difficult, but worth the struggle. Pray and have faith in God. Before you make any decisions, I'd recommend some meditation and prayer before doing anything. Others here can give better advice, but just wanted to offer support to you. Be well and peace upon you.
