Same thing with the way they string together several isolated incidents and then make a statement about there being "a nation-wide network" implying that this is a criminal conspiracy of national scope--something they never really spell out--they implied it, but they can deny they said it if ever pinned down. I suspect that, if pinned down, they would deny ever asserting that there are 150 "lesbian gangs" in the D.C. area. I know a right-wing hate-monger who justifies this kind of thing as "spin" and says everyone does it. Somehow you can get away with lying when you call it "spin." Seems like folks like O'Reilly wouldn't know the truth if it bit them______you know where. I don't like to frame our struggle as a "culture war"--that's a term that comes from the right wing. "War" implies that the Christian Right is defending itself against an aggressive "enemy." "Lying" and all sorts of "collateral damage" is justifiable when one is defending oneself in a "war" agains an "enemy." We need to get beyond the "war" frame and start insisting that everyone behave like we're living in a civil society, not a battlefield. Steven Webster |

I read an article on WND about a school's attempt to "convert their freshman gay." I almost started laughing, 'cause it was really about a sex-ed class that was just saying that some are homosexual and it's okay, no conversion there. What made me laugh even more is that the spokesperson for Concerned Women for America was a man. I thought it was Concerned Women for America?!?! Am I missing something? I bet that man is really a woman. Otherwise how could he be in the Concerned Women for America? huh HUH???

Friends,
Wayne Besen is his usual caustic self in his comments on Glatze, but under it all Wayne makes a lot of sense: http://www.truthwinsout.org/blog/the...aven/#more-204 Also, piecing together information here and there, it appears Glatze was recently baptized into the Mormon faith in Halifax, Nova Scotia Steven Webster |

Unfortunately, my borther is a FOX news addict. Last night there was a retraction of this story on O'Rielly. There is a Lesbian group called the pink pistols but they are advocates of gun rights...not a gang of any sorts. Of course, good ol' Bill was not there for the retraction, the girl that fills in for him when he is gone was and the retractions was only a couple of sentences and I heard no apology for the false story.

No he isn't! he knows full well that he can tell a big whopper like this and that it will travel far and wide among his "fans" and support the right-wing lie machine and that when he whispers his pathetic little apology that no one will hear or notice it. |

I just wanted to let everyone know that the O'Reilly factor is, as I write, talking to GLAD about the misinformation presented on the show. GLAD did say thankyou for inviting him on to correct/discuss the issue, the spokesman saying that he hopes other news stations will follow his example. So, at least that was a relatively positive dialogue. According to O'Reilly, the detective/interviewee who said lesbian gangs were a national epidemic posted an apology on his website.
To be frank, I really like Bill O'Reilly's show because it is one of the few news shows that I feel doesn't embrace the ideology of the extreme left. And, during the Terri Schiavo fiasco, his show was one of the only newscasts to explore cases in which PVS had been misdiagnosed. Now, obviously, O'Reilly tends toward the conservative end of things and this example in itself shows that he, too, mistakenly makes false reports. Although, Bill O'Reilly did say that some lesbian gangs exist but not widely, although, as GLAD said, he really needs to clarify that, which GLAD invited him to do. One thing that I think Bill needs to stop doing is interrupting people when they're talking. It makes him look intolerant and brash, esp. during this last broadcast in dealing with an extremely sensitive issue concerning his own broadcast. |

Don't you know lesbian gangs are everywhere? Supposedly I'm in one, i was wearing their colors (a rainbow cape) and was threatened with suspension for it... if there really is a lesbian gang, please let me know, I'd love the hook up>

30 years ago, I used to wrench for a bunch of women, some gay, some str8 who rode Harleys. They called themselves the Alliance of Women Bikers. But they've been gone so long, even Google has no record of them.
