Patrick Henry College

Established in 2000, Patrick Henry College is a non-denominational, Protestant school whose mission is to “prepare Christian men and women who will lead our nation and shape our culture with timeless biblical values and the fidelity to the spirit of the American founding.”

Patrick Henry sent more graduates to work at the White House than any other school in the nation.

Out of 80 graduates from Patrick Henry’s first graduating class in 2004, seven moved on to work as White House interns.

Other graduates have gone on to work in other areas of the federal government.

In May 2006, one-third of Patrick Henry’s faculty resigned after refusing to adhere to the school’s highly restrictive and legalistic “statement of Biblical Worldviews.”

Patrick Henry’s employment and admissions policies actively discriminate against gay and transgender students, faculty and staff.

Approximately 85% of Patrick Henry’s 325 students have come from home-schooled education.

The school remains unaccredited, partly due to its “Statement of Biblical Worldviews.”

The school contains little diversity in regard to race and ethnicity and is hostile to any open diversity and affirmation of those with different sexual orientations or gender identities.

Although the Equality Ride attempted to work with the achool in order to speak to students in open and honest conversation and dialogue on campus, the administration of the school refused true dialogue, instead offering “debate” on the Federal Marriage Amendment.

Patrick Henry also stated that members of the Equality Ride are “false teachers,” “infiltrate” college campuses, politically and... spiritually.”

And then ends with this:

With over 100 law enforcement personnel present, the Equality Riders were unable to speak to any students at the edge of the campus.

Only one Rider was able to speak to students at an off-campus eatery.

Both students expressed embarrassment for the way in which their school handled the Equality Ride visit to the campus. They also readily admitted that they and their peers would be at an extreme disadvantage when their time comes to enter the “real world.”

PS, I’m still looking for that Google video of the BBC documentary of Patrick Henry College which I “coincidentally” stumbled across and watched just last night..

300 students, and only a few years old, yet this is a school that was DESIGNED to change national policy.

This, like the Michael Farris gem above, is an example of Projection of projection.

They wrongfully believe that the judgment they feel is emanating from "Bible thumpers." What Kevin McCullough and Michael Farris are really saying (about themselves) is this:

Courtship 101: Homeschooling Pick Up Lines

Earl Hall, VP campus administration – as noted in video – warning riders of non-forgiveness of trespass against them.

“I’m thrilled that it seems to be over,” said Earl Hall, PHC Vice President for Campus Administration, watching as the last of the protesters crossed over to their awaiting bus. “From a security standpoint, it was fairly low-key throughout the day.”

Big accomplishment. You kept your students from thinking for themselves.

This is what really bugs me though, I explored it in the post above.

Apparently they are so proud of their Chancellor's press statement that they have posted it on their website:

Their ultimate objective is to drown out the voice of God in their own hearts.

there are no circumstances under which they can silence the voice of their God-given conscience.

What sickens me most about this kind of statement is that the man unabashedly speaks for the hearts of the Equality Riders, their consciences themselves – literally from behind closed doors.

It's not only unfair in the strictest of senses, it's inexcusable, and I am tempted to say unforgivable.

Personally (me, Emproph), I walk this oh-so fine line of "knowing" the hearts of others when I post online, and am ever-tempted to cross it. I make every attempt to qualify what I say with evidence, partly because I know I often fail in this endeavor in my own mind.

By speaking for the hearts and minds of the Equality Riders in such a fundamentally disparaging way – at a PRESS conference – is not only to bear false witness, but to do so with the motive of spreading that false witness. It is a witness as to just how politically motivated that school is (and by "political" I mean dishonest).

Furthermore, by speaking for the "God-given conscience[s]" of the Equlity Riders (and by default, every GLBT person of faith), Michael P. Farris claims witness to what ONLY God could possibly know. And by so doing, Michael P. Farris, Chancellor of PHC, attempts to speak for God's relationship with us. The ultimate heresy, the ultimate blasphemy, the ultimate idolatry.

More importantly and most irresponsibly, he does so without any attempt to engage the Equality Riders in order to ensure that his perceptions are accurate.

There's just something within me that says there's nothing more vile.

Exactly, and this is the very definition of Special Rights. They imagine an exception in the commandment that the rest of us can't see: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor - unless thy neighbor is gay.

April: The administration of PHC distributed a falsified version of Equality Loudoun’s commenting policy, in order to make the specious claim that we don’t welcome disagreement and debate on this blog. The occasion was the Soulforce Equality Ride visit to campus, and the objective was to justify PHC’s own unwillingness to engage in honest dialogue. The misrepresentation appeared in a flyer prepared for the media by the “Office of Communications, Patrick Henry College.”

When students and alumni (who had been reading and commenting on our blog) confronted their administration, the president implied that we had altered our policy after they produced the flyer. According to the Tuesday, April 24, 2007 minutes of the Student Senate, President Graham Walker told them
