I've been wanting to find some people who would journey with me through the Landmark Speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and discuss how these speeches apply to the LGBT quest for civil rights. Dr. King's landmark speeches are available online at Stanford University:
http://www.stanford.edu/group/King/p...s/contents.htm While reading the speeches is OK, I would suggest purchasing the CD set from Amazon.com. There is something very powerful about listening to Dr. King speak. http://www.amazon.com/Call-Conscienc...4555012&sr=8-1 I'm really hoping I can find some folks to have some very indepth and serious discussions about how the soul, ideas and methods of Dr. King's activism can apply to our own civil rights activism. If there is an interested group, I will post a link to the speech of the week and we can discuss it all week. There are eleven speeches so I anticipate that we'd be at this for eleven weeks. Let me know what you think. Let me know if you're in. |
