Default Happy Birthday Dr. King!

Friends,

We remembered King in worship yesterday. I've been re-reading the Letter from Birmingham Jail

There's a real message here for Soulforce!

How are others spending the holiday?

Thank you - I hope I get to these today. I've got errands, work, and bunches of stuff to do today, but I LOVE MLK. Thank you for posting.

I just got back from a march. Lexington really celebrates MLK Jr. Day.

The city is quiet today- no post office- no banking- many folks have the day off. And it's cold as ice. And while the Met Museum is usually closed on Monday's, today it is open, so we are going to saunter over there, have lunch and see some Aaaaaart.

Thanks for the links- will get to them when we get back.

Default Time to bump this

I finally took time to read the Letter from Birmingham Jail today and I wept.

Thank you for posting this, Stephen. MLK's equanimity absolutely amazes me. I am so grateful that there was a Martin Luther King Jr.

Smile Listened to his speeches

I listened to Dr. King's speech coing out against the Vietnam War. I also listened to his speech in Memphis the night before he was slain. Listened to some of his speeches that are not well known.
