Default Goin to the chapel...

Been a long time and I miss you guys here, but wanted to share a special something that recently happened to me:

I bought her an engagement ring.

She doesn't know yet (and doesn't visit this site, so it's just between us), but I'm trying to think of fun ways to propose in the next few months.

Here's my question:

If you were proposing to someone, how would you do it?
(Or, how have you done it?)

The best I can say is this: think about what makes your gal happy and excited. If it's a private dinner at a place you always go to, or at the beach.....you get my drift. Put yourself in her shoes.

Of course, include yourself in the equation. Whatever you do- keep it real. From the heart- to the heart.

Hmmm, I did propose to my wife, but in front of a Barnes and Noble bookstore by the mall. I didn't know gay marriage was an option. But I had read about it in the bookstore and thought, "Why not?" So I went outside and flipped open my phone and called her. She was working and so I didn't think I would actually get to say anything but leave a message. I was shocked when she did answer. It was kinda like, "How about us getting married?" Not the most romantic of settings or ways to ask the woman you love, because I actually didn't think she would take me up on it. She did of course, but....

If I had to do it all over again...........I have to think about that one. Go with whatever you think would make her happy, and jazz it up a little. Make it memorable and fun. Something she will never forget.........
