Hello,
My name is James and my church is doing a sermon soon about how the Church has been less than kind to homosexuals. One family friend will also give testimony to his persecution from the Church regarding his sexuality. It's my job to make an introductory video to the sermon, and I was hoping for a background song with some lyrics that dwell on the paradox of the theology/sin and sexual desire. One song I was thinking about was Morrissey's "I Have Forgiven Jesus," but I don't want to offend anyone with the implied notion that that song might refer specifically to homosexual desire (because we don't know for sure). Any ideas? Your (or any music connoisseur's) would be greatly appreciated. |

Check out "Philosophy of Loss" by the Indigo Girls.
Here's a few lyrics. Welcome to why the church has died In the heart of the exiled, in the kingdom of hate. She wants a land that keeps her commands And marries herself to the state. Modern scribes write in Jesus Christ everone is free And the doors open wide to all straight men and women But they are not open to me. Who is teaching the kids to be soldiers, marked by a plain white cross? Will you kill just a little to save a lot a more? The philosophy of loss. |
