Default What do we call the ones we love?

What do you call the one you love when talking to other people?

I call her my girlfriend to most people.

Smile Almost forgot...

If you're not currently in a relationshp, then respond with what you have used in the past or would use in the future.

Default This is interesting to think about....

For me, the answer that I would give to that has varied over the years depending on how out I was, or who I was saying it to. Now, I definitely use the word partner most of the time. Years ago, before it was out, it was roommate almost all the time with a previous partner.

most of the time I say BF, but it does depend on the situation and how out I am to the people I'm talking to.

Default ya gotta work to be called my husband

It is an interesting conundrum, and does depend on who you are talking to, and if you want/are comfortable wiyh them knowing the truth.

To those who have no reason to know, and I'd (unfortunately) prefer they not (a boss, landlord, gun happy, red neck neighbor), I am resigned to just call them a 'friend'. If my guard is down, then it depends on if we are getting along, and I may refer to them as my life sucking leach, my temporary time killer, him (with eye roll), other half, better half, half wit, partner, boyfriend, sweetie, drug, me completer, or reason to breath... If I want to make an offensive point, I introduce them as my rump buffer, python pit, jello mold, (censored) or hell mate... Usually, boyfriend or partner (if I'm being Euro-snooty, me mate). Like i said, it depends. ... the word for this post.
