Default 5 CD player

Handel and Mozart Aria's with Benita Valente and Tatiana Troyanos; Arthur Rubinstein- Chopin Nocturnes; Alfred Cortot- More Chopin; Marian McPartland- Live at Maybeck Recital Hall (Jazz); Rubinstein- more Chopin.

I've got one- countem' one CD in there. The husband is hogging the space with piano stuff- but truth to tell- I adore him and his taste- thats why I married him.

Default In my CD player or MP3

Well, in my CD player nothing. I left my CD's at home this morning accidentally. I took one out yesterday because I had to perform it for church at our Easter production. It was "The Glory" by Avalon. Powerful song, important message.

In my MP3 player, my wife put together a hodgepodge of my favorite songs-All the way from Sara Evans to the Dixie Chicks to Avalon to Gloria Estefan, to 4HIM and Amy Grant. So as you can see, it is a variety.

Even though Lent is over, I'm still listening to Bach's St. Matthew's Passion. !!

Sometimes it seems like all of life is in his music. I wish I could write half as well.

Default Music: the 2nd greatest pleasure!

I am sooo immature... I have been milking Limewire (file sharing prog... is it stealing?) and recently been trying to replace alot of old stuff. Just filled in with Queen, Rush 2112 (full album, yippee), the XTC offshoot Dukes of the Stratosphere, Kate Bush (new!) and Art of Noise... wow, and I am soooo old too.

Dewdrop, finally checked out your stuff... very cool. Stole a couple from you too.

Default Pink

I have a Pink compilation I put together currently in my car CD player (very eclectic tastes in music!)...

I love the words to God is a DJ:

If God is the DJ, live is the dance floor, love is the rhythm, you are the music

Awdiot - I love Queen (yup I'm old too..)!

My favorite is R & B, Blues - but I pretty much like any kind of music, it's what makes the world go 'round!

Default I;m kinda slow to respond, but....

In my home CD player, I was listening over the weekend to Gwen Stefani. In my car, almost every day Switchfoot- they rock and have a good message. Peace, Vanessa

Default hmm...

In the *cassette player* in my car, I have a mix tape of Ani DeFranco favorites.

The music CD currently in my computer is disc 1/2 from the Broadway musical Rent (the movie is also awesome, but the music is of course better on Broadway and there are more songs in the Broadway version).

Coming back to this thread... I didn't think of this one of earlier:

Fred Hersch: Leaves of Grass

Hersch is a jazz pianist who took on the task of composing what might be called a jazz cantata on Whitman's poetry. The result is some of the most spiritual music I've ever heard. I suspect it would resonate well with the many seekers here!

I mean it -- if you have any affinity whatsoever for jazz and appreciate Whitman's transcendent vision, you must hear this music.

Edit: This is what I wrote in my blog about it: http://www.dewdrop-world.net/words/?postid=4

Goodness I love music. It is so much of who I am. My Ipod currently has mostly independent music on there alot of my friends, Sarah Peacock (awesome music, awesome girl!), Kristy Lee, Steph Callahan, Jen Foster, Barb Carbon and then I have Rent and Wicked on there, mmmm and some random stuff. Oh and songs that I'm learning to play for when my girlie gets back home!!!
