Smile Hello everyone :)

Hi! My name's Don and I'm from New Delhi, India. I belong to the Church of God (Daniel S. Warner) and this is my first post in Soulforce, though I've come across this site about a year ago. I guess I have the same thing to say here that "For The Bible Tells Me So" is just an amazing work! Growing up gay and Christian did present me with some difficulties but it wasn't so much a conflict of being gay and being a christian that I felt but more of a desire to balance the two. I hope that seeing this documentary will lead me to find the answers finally and I would be grateful if some good soul out there could help me along too.
God Bless and thank you for reading

Smile Welcome

Hi Don and welcome to the site. I saw the film about a year ago myself and it is a great film. I'm sure that you will like it here.

Hi Don,

I'm glad to have you join us on the forums. For the Bible Tells Me So is indeed a great documentary. It would be wonderful if everyone would see it.

I apprectiate what you say about finding a balance with being gay and Christian. It seems I am finding a balance also. Other people may think there is a conflict between the two. I see no conflict at all.

Please let us get to know you better.

Tu Amigo, Pablo

Hi, Don

I hope you find all the answers you're looking for here. I'm new too but I have already found so much information that has helped me understand homosexuality and Christianity.

I also love the fact that you live in India. You'll have to tell us what it's like there because I know I love hearing about exotic places in the world

Hi Don,

Welcome .

If I may, I would like to encourage you to stick around and share yourself. You will find several "good souls" here to help you along and who you can help along as well. One of the common gay legacies that many have to deal with is not realizing ones own value. Many gays are used to living in hiding ("closets") so have often gone for years not being known, and consequently, not being validated. To me, validation and love are one in the same. The response to not being loved is often to hide even further, hoping to be rescued (I speak from experience). It can be scary to be vulnerable, especially if you have a history of rejection... which many gays have. You are safe here . Please take the risk, time and effort to be known by and to know people here. You will be glad if you do.
cheers
paul

Default Welcome Don.

So glad that you found us here. I only saw "For the Bible Tells Me So" a couple of months ago; I bought my own copy and cried through the whole thing. I am where you are at and with Pablo as well; for me it has been about a balance with Christianity and being a lesbian; and it works......... Peace be with you, Vanessa

Default Welcome Don!

Glad you are here! My partner and I are going to see the documentary on July 1st, and to hear Bishop Gene Robinson speak afterwards. I plan on purchasing the DVD, but waiting to see it until July 1st. I'm really excited!

Keep up the great work!
