The Malaysian National News Agency recently released an article called "Homosexual's Life Of Moral Decadence"
They even call it some kind of "cancer". It is a excrutiatingly painful read, though I believe some would enjoy it with a good laugh. This article would do Peter LaBarbera so proud. My response is here: Take care, everyone. |

This is interesting - although in a slightly off-topic way, the article didn't surprise me much, but your response was interesting. I only know one Malay, and he was brought up very conservatively - he expects not to kiss a woman until he's engaged, considers "penis" to be a word which should only be said to a doctor, etc. Ironically he also has a very exotic taste in porn
. The picture you paint of, presumably, KL is very different, so I have a question:Is the traditionalist view expressed in the article representative of the majority, or minority of Malaysians?

"I only know one Malay..."
Is he a Malaysian Malay, or Malaysian Chinese, or Malaysian Indian? There is always a comfusion here because I may be Chinese, but in some countries they call me a Malay according to the country I am born.. ![]() "Is the traditionalist view expressed in the article representative of the majority, or minority of Malaysians?" The traditionalist view expressed in the article are from the government representing the majority of of Malaysians. It is difficult to pin down how big majority is; because of the intolerance created by the government and the police, a lot of gay and lesbians folks here are closeted and straight act in order to be accepted in that majority to maintain their jobs, friends and life. There are areas in Malaysia like KL and Penang that have some homosexual friendly disctricts where gays and lesbians are accepted (my pals say Cheras). But many parts of Malaysia have not come to the recognition of homosexuals as just a sexual orientation; rather they play the deviant, perversed, sinful sexual activity tune. The governement supports that idea. |

if malaysia really wants to improve its moral high-ground then it should be tackling all the corruption and bribery that goes on instead of tackling the "homosexual problem". Give the malaysian press a reason for real concern like the people they're electing being corrupt and they don't give a flying fudge-cake but give them a good sex scandal and they're all set..

George W. Bush has managed to waste thousands of lives, and hundreds of billions (Trillions?) of dollars, and no one has even managed to slow him down. But Bill Clinton had this little thing with Monica.............

I agree with livewithsoulandfreedom they should be tackeling the corruption a little more than any problems they might be facing with homosexual's.
Malaysia really needs a wake up call or a slap in the face cause its getting worse and worse every year but they just let it slide under the table. Everytime!!!! Peace and Love Raymond....
