But you have to look at the fact that Obama isn't the reason for the HUGE deficit that we are in. It has been 8 years of Bush running the show that has put us in this situation. I truly feel for Mr. Obama, he has a very large plate to digest in his first four years as President. It is not going to be easy, it wouldn't matter who was in office. I don't think that anyone that voted for Obama "made a mistake". I think he is the one that is going to be able to get something done and get us on the right road.

I know how some of you feel about the Warren issue here on the forums. I too felt "betrayed" initially. However, looking at it from another prospective I can see his reasoning. He isn't governing from the left or right, he is taking the centralist point. Trying to include everyone. I am not happy by any means by his picking of Warren, but I am not all that surprised either. I don't feel he is throwing the LGBT community under the bus and is going to forget about us. I think he is trying to open the doors on every side so we can find the common ground that we all need.

It isn't going to happen tomorrow, in a week or even a year. But from the way I have been seeing Obama handling things thus far I am happy. It is how I hoped he would govern. As a President he MUST be central to all things. I am not saying he can't lean left or right on certain issues, but I can see that he is trying to be open and fair to all that are in this mess. The war in the middle east, and now one in Gaza, the financial crisis this country is in. These are all things that are going to take time and attention. That means that LGBT issues may not be on the forefront of the Presidents agenda. I can understand that, I am not happy, but I can understand. Prioritizing is what is needed.

Our time will come and I feel it will be soon. The constructor of the DOMA is calling for its repeal. This is a HUGE step. Without the DOMA, then states will have to recognize marriages no matter where they are performed. This is a HUGE door that could be opened for the LGBT community. Just give him time people. Give him the benefit of the doubt. Let him show by "his actions" and not jump to conclusions to quickly. I think that is a hard thing to do when you have been fighting for so long. But if you can just let him show himself and what he is going to do before you condemn him, I think he will surprise you.

My 2 cents.

Peace,
Scott
