Dana DANE in the house! (Im a real funny gal!)

Ah....as it is. I am Dana, a 26 year old nursing school student in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I decided to post to these boards because I have a huge pull in my heart to be involved in change. Throughout life I have been involved in things that begin or help change. People have always used my loud mouth to make a difference. I live in California for 4 years, and was involved in the LGBT affairs in Long Beach. I also performed the Vagina Monologues at the American Cabaret Theater here in Indy back in 2004. Like I said, whether it is women's rights, LGBT rights, or animal rights....I intend to be involved in some way, and to help people have the courage and strength to be involved in positive change.

I, in general, am a lighthearted person, who loves to laugh and see the light side of things. However, my heart has hung heavy from an early age about the lack of rights for LGBT people. I intend to bring smiles here, and a willingness to help out wherever I can.

I suspect that every self aware woman who has ever heard it, or of it has wished that she could go on stage at least once, and perform the "Vagina Monologues". Many well known actresses have.

I experience the joy, self esteem, wonder, and empowerment that goes with all of the meanings in the Vagina Monologues to be the exact opposite of all of the unfortunate associations that cling to the "C" word.

Every woman should see it, and if necessary see it again, until she comes away feeling truly wonderful about herself.

And thank you for your support for those of us in the LGBT community.

The woman in me celebrates the woman in you. Just Chris, just for tonight.
