Default What's your 'type' of man/woman?

It's interesting to think about the 'type' of men/women you like, for some people it's very specific but for others it's much harder to pin-point.

What is your type?
or
What attracts you to a man/woman?

People who smile and can make me laugh.
You've gotta be at least slightly less shy / quiet than I am, or else talking can be difficult and evenings tend to be stay-in all the time and it gets boring. It helps if some of your life-plans and goals match mine too (which is kind of difficult right now, because I'm living in a city I plan to abandon).
Hair (body, face) is usually a good thing, but I don't really have any sin-qua-nons. Tall can be inconvinient, but if the rest of the person's worth tippy-toes, then they're worth it.
Usually having any one feature that stands out is a plus (eyes-that-pop, big arms, that really awesomely wide or sometimes mischievously elfin smile, etc). I do have a really weird thing about long hair: it doesn't work for me and I just can't seem to get past it.

I have a pretty wide range of men I can be attracted to, and they don't all fit into any one "type". There's tendancies (shorter, stockier, more muscular instead of tall and thin) but they're hardly strict "rules", either consciously (that I'd rule out dating someone) or subconsciously (that my brain just finds random people attractive sometimes).

Default Men

I can really only say what about men attracts me to them.

I man has to smell good. I'm talking about having that fresh, clean, just showered smell. Good teeth. I like a man's hands and feet. Nice hands and feet are attractive to me. I like masculine men. I like men that have a nice man's body. A little hair is nice.

When he hugs me, I want to feel the strength and comfort of a man.

My type...
Tall! I'm only 5'1" but I like guys to be at least 5'11" but after 6' and tend to get a lot more interested. Not weak, but not too muscular either... so neither extremes. I don't like long hair on guys, but it's something I can get past. I tend to prefer dark hair, but that could change. I find facial hair to be gross, it looks dirty. I tend to have a thing for guys that drive certain cars (trucks mostly), but I would like to get over that! Someone who smilies a lot, more specifically someone who will make me smile back. Those half-smiles are a weakness. I love a guy who can talk. I'm one who will stay up until 2 am IMing with a person, my record is 5 hours... I'd be interested in doing that in person too though. Oh yeah, and gay , I should figure that out at some point...

People become much more attractive when you get to know them, or sometimes far less attractive. A guy can be all of the above and a jerk, which is a deal breaker.

I can definitely say what turns me off. Arrogance, narcissism, bossiness, prudishness, and closed-mindedness.

I'm attracted to various types of men. As one who despises concepts of masculinity and feminity, I must concede that I lean towards the more "manly" men--not "macho" men. I can be drawn to various facial features, whether it be the lips or whatever, and definitely the eyes--a guy with striking eyes, especially blue, just melts my heart. Tall or short makes no difference. Hippies, cowboys, preppy, doesn't matter.

What's important, of course, is the person's heart. He must be kind and compassionate, humble, and a good sense of humor is a must. He need not be fancy; I like men who are down-to-earth. Intelligence is good. I like someone I can have deep conversations with. I want someone who is spiritually uplifting, who will accept me as I am. Those are the basics. I'd also love to have a fishing buddy, and someone to watch horror movies with!

I am a beta so I like alphas. I also like curvy women and not sharp pointy skinny ones. I like smart people. My wife is all of these things and she is practically perfect.

It's nice to hear that there are still people who like their women curvy.

Me too! I don't see the attraction in a pointy woman. I like them soft and curvy.

I am also very attracted to smart and funny women. Not just book smart, but able to have a conversation about politics, history and ethics, and is able to defend her position in a logical way. I guess you could catagorize them as more geeky, like me. Also has to love to read, or at least not care if I always have my nose in a book.

I am attracted to rebels. Someone who is willing to stand up to protect their family but not a trouble maker so to speak. I love grounded women who are not set off by everything life gives them, but can take it in stride and be mellow about it, not all dramatic all the time. A bit of drama is ok as long as its not too long lasting. Someone comfortable in their own skin.
