Here's a new song from the Diva herself Rupaul. A Fan had made a video of the Prop 8 protest in New York w/ this song.
Here it is Let's Turn the Night off her new cd Champion Enjoy

Can I just give a heartfelt virtual hug to any of my American brothers and sisters who had their right to marry so cruelly given and then ripped away? I wish I could go down to California (and the other states where crap like this is going down) and hug each and every one of you.
So, yeah. Hugs from a sympathetic and supportive Canadian grrl. |

Thanks marutidas. With all the love behind wanting equal marriage rights, I don't understand how they could turn it down. Our country has come a long way in it's history, but it still has a long way to go.

Best wishes from another Canadian gal. The Canadian Charter of Rights forbids discrimination based on gender, race, religion, etc. (the usual stuff). It doesn't say anything about protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation. We did, however, get a Supreme Court ruling that basically said discrimination is discrimination, even if the specific category isn't in written into law. So that's how we ended up allowing same-sex marriage.
My favorite motto is "What we desire for ourselves, we wish for all." So here's hoping that the folks fighting Prop 8 get a similar ruling. |
