Hello all:
Just letting you know that Mel and his son will be interviewed/featured on NPR's show, Fresh Air with Terri Gross, today. In my area of Northeastern PA, the show runs at 6:00 PM, so check your local listings. Part of the interview he gave will focus on his use of electroshock therapy years ago to help him to stop being gay....... so sad, but what a reality of the times! Peace, Vanessa

I tuned in to Fresh Air tonight and this was the first I had heard about Mel White. I found this website and felt like I should join. I am a straight woman who felt compelled to support gay rights after the birth of my only child almost 24 years ago.
I knew for certain that I wanted my daughter to have the right to love and marry whomever she wanted. She recently married a man that she loves. I am proud to work for a small company that offers domestic partner benefits. We have two gay women at work, but that isn't why we offered this benefit. We offer it simply because it is the right thing to do. I have long marvelled at those that pull verses from the Bible to support their bigotry. When I first found this website I downloaded Mel White's "What the Bible Says" and I will share this with others. Thank you, Mr. White, for being such an inspiration! |

I listened to the interview and surprised to hear how human Mel sounded. He's wonderful man, who started a wonderful group!
