Default Kreepy Krisitan Klowns for Kids Brrrrrr

Today I was looking in the newspaper and saw that it had a pullout ad section for summer camps. There was also a whole page of ads for clowns. At least half of the clown ads said that they were "Christian Clowns" and had bible-based lessons and entertainment.
I hate clowns and always have. Even as a kid they scared the Bejeebus out of me. As I got older and watched movies like "It" or "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" it just confirmed what I already knew. That clowns are EEEVIL!
Probably some of these Christian Clowns are harmless and just have the kids sing "Zacheus was a Wee Little Man" while they make balloon animals. However, I bet a lot of them are sinister creepy clowns who say things like "you won't think things are so happy and funny when you BAD children go to HELL!"

I wonder if Christian clowns attend a clown church with a clown choir and a clown minister and the entire congregation are clowns? Do you think their communion would be a pie in the face?

Christian Clowning is a phenomenon that gained popularity in the 1970s and 80's. Some are comic face clowns and some are white face mime type clowns. Almost all of them are silent. I've known a number of people over the years who were into Christian Clowning and have found that it can be a very profound way of articulating the truth of the Gospel. Very few of them make balloon animals.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like clowns.

This is clown related. I had a friend that did christian mime. IOW, He did mime work to christian music. He was also known for his Charlie Chaplin impersonation. His wife caterred parties and receptions while he did his Chaplin bit. I never saw him break character.

Mimes are fine. Clowns are evil. Pantomime is a valid and fascinating art form.

Smile Clowns Creep Me Out, Too

I'm not real sure how I felt about them as a kid, though.

Clowns are a bit creepy. I'm slightly scared of certain Christians. The idea of 'christian clowns' is bordering on terrifying.
